I am beginning to add a little more to my blog again - following almost eighteen months in which I neglected and then forgot how to add to the bloody thing!
Following my three years in Art school in Cardiff I was persuaded that the best future (outside of being an impecunious artist) was to embrace the equally bohemian and alluring world of the theatre. A small step, given that I lived in a house full of theatricals, mostly performers and technicians.
I applied for, and was accepted on the post grad Design and Stage Management course at the W.C.M&D. A really hands on and 'old school' course in those days, largely taught by former practitioners in the theatre and headed by the wonderfully experienced but prone to be a little cranky Elizabeth Friendship. Brilliant on the history of costume, well versed in the traditions and techniques of set design in the theatre and someone I grew to respect and also despise in equal measure as a teacher and later briefly as a colleague.
